HALO is a philanthropic organization open to friends, family members, employees of HARDI members, and the trade press. HALO stands for Helping All Live On. HALO has become a major charity fundraising organization within the HVACR wholesale distribution industry. From the organization's earliest beginnings more than 50 years ago, it has been dedicated to philanthropic giving, promoting HVACR and educational endeavors. HALO continually strives to support education by providing scholarship funds that promote education in the HVACR industry such as the $500 scholarship given to Women in HVACR. This money goes toward two scholarships Women in HVACR give to foster and encourage young women considering careers in HVACR. HALO also contributes fund to Nate and to Ferris State University.
HARDI's liaison to HALO is Sue Calvin. She helps orchestrate the group's activities and fundraising efforts year long. Sue is retiring in June 2016 and the HALO Board and members will miss her immensely.
For the past several years, HALO's fundraising efforts have supported Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization dedicated to building specially adapted homes for service members who have been severely injured in combat operations since September 11, 2001. Members of HALO and HARDI have generously contributed both money and product to this well-deserved organization. In 2015, Homes for Our Troops named HARDI its sixth largest fundraiser.

"Last year, HALO raised over $60K for Homes for Our Troops and each year we raise the bar even higher." - Shawna Gazaway - Current HALO President-Elect and National Accounts Manager for Berry Plastics, Polyken and Nashua Tape manufacturer and member of HARDI. "Our members step up and contribute product to the home builds, donate items for our annual silent auction, contribute cash, and hold fundraisers throughout the year at their places of business."
HALO isn't all work and no play! Many lifelong friendships have developed through involvement with HALO. Each year HALO holds a formal meeting at the HARDI Annual Conference and we host excursions, banquets, receptions, and other activities. "We are a group that enjoys the HVACR industry and giving back to our country and local communities. Membership is open to anyone in the industry and we welcome more people to get involved."
