The 12th Annual Women in HVACR conference was held in conjunction with Comfortech 2015. The conference got underway Monday, September 14th, with a welcome event in conjunction with the Service Roundtable members only party at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten.

On Tuesday, September 15th, a full day of industry-respected speakers presented on the topics of “Efficiency, Effectiveness, and Accountability.”

After a nice breakfast sponsored by Southwire, Ruth Ann Davis - Women in HVACR President, kicked off the event with an inspirational welcome message on “Efficiency - An Important Factor in Determination of Productivity.” “Visualize your dreams” said Ruth Ann and “Add to the story of your life by following the three C’s – Choice, Chance, Change.”

Tom Jackson, CEO of Jackson Systems, lead an interactive workshop and icebreaker on “Efficiency and Personal Effectiveness.” Marjorie McAllister, Women in HVACR Vice President shared the success the organization has had in 2015 and where they are going in 2016; upcom-ing industry events where you can network with other Women in HVACR and also new initiatives for the organization in 2016.

Nancye Combs, President/CEO of HR Enterprise, Inc. conducted a workshop, “Efficiencies in Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution.” In this workshop, you learned how highly successful women have acquired the skills to be effective and efficient, including solving problems, managing conflict and time management.

After a nice lunch sponsored by York, Keynote speaker and 2015 Contracting Business Woman of the Year, Jacki Bradbury-Guerrero, shared her personal and professional experiences and her story of becoming a successful Women in HVACR. “Efficiency. The Way to a Successful Career.”

The final speaker for the conference was professional speaker and bestselling author Mark Matteson. Mark brought his energy and excitement to this interactive workshop on the difference between efficiency and effectiveness, because if you lean your ladder against the wrong house it does not matter how many times you climb up and down it.

The positive feedback from the event was overwhelming as attendees stated, “Speakers were fabulous and the efficiency theme was awesome – we ALL can continue to learn how to increase our efficiency”. Also there were many new faces who commented, “This was my first time attending, I met some terrific people and am so glad I came!”

We were thankful for our best-ever attendance by both men and women from the industry. We hope to see many more of you at our 2016 conference in Philadelphia. Also we hope to see you on Saturday December 5th from 1pm-4pm at the JW Marriott Orlando for the Women in HVACR Meeting and Networking Event at the HARDI Annual Conference.
